Christmas Pageant: The children of the parish have an opportunity to test their acting skills in the annual Christmas pageant. Parents, as well as other parishioners are treated to this presentation of the birth of Christ performed with a child's touch of innocence.
July 4th Barbecue, Silent Auction, Bake Sale and Used Book Sale: These widely attended, enormously popular fellowship events have become parish and community wide annual traditions. Cooking for the barbecue begins at dawn on July 3rd where almost literally a ton of pork is placed over charcoal fires in large smokers. Chicken, baked beans, coleslaw and corn bread complete the meal. Folks come from the all around the community to eat dinner on the grounds or take home the best barbecue to be found anywhere. The Silent Auction is organized by the Men of the Church and manned by anyone and everyone who can help. The Bake Sale is supported by the women of the church with proceeds designated for Women’s educational and enrichment programs. In 2005, a Used Book sale was added to raise funds for various unbudgeted projects and has added a new dimension to our July 4th activities.
Spring Tea: An event to honor the special women in our lives, women of the church invite moms, daughters, grandmothers, aunts, and friends for a traditional English High Tea complete with finger sandwiches, scones, petit fours and all manner of fussy, fun fare. The event features special guest speakers and presenters on a variety of interesting and entertaining subjects. It’s a day when you can get all gussied up with a pair of gloves, a flamboyant hat, and a string of pearls or just come as you are and enjoy the warmth and fellowship of all the women who are precious in our lives.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper: The Men’s Club joins with the Youth Group for this annual fellowship event just before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Youth cook, decorate, sell tickets, and organize events for children of all ages during this family event. This is the primary fundraiser for our Youth Group.
