Our call as Christians is to reach out to our community in love. The members of this parish are committed to many different ministries and missions.
St. Luke's Community House
www.stlukescommunityhouse.org
St. Luke's was founded in 1913 to serve the medical needs of the women and children whose male relatives were inmates in the state penitentiary. In 1920, St. Luke's relocated to its present site and continued serving as a clinic until 1996, when TennCare cuts forced the agency to terminate these services. Since that time, St. Luke's has continued to evolve and is now the only major social service agency in the area offering a variety of programs including childcare, mobile meals, emergency food, home repairs, tax assistance, toy store, adult computer classes, summer camp and health assessments.
This n'That Thrift Store
The thrift store operates to provide financial support to the St. Luke's Community House daycare program. Volunteers help to sort and sell donated items. The Thrift Shop is located at 5007 Georgia Avenue.
West Nashville Community Dev. Partnership
St. Luke's Sunday Food Baskets
A menu of items to be brought each Sunday in the month is found in the Herald newsletter. The basket for the items is located in the back of the Nave and each Sunday parishioners bring their donations. George Rentschler delivers this food to St. Luke's Food Bank each week. This is a year round, ongoing project and is separate from Resurrection's other food drives.
Room-In-The-Inn
During the winter months we are one of 150 area congregations providing evening meals, overnight lodging, breakfast, warm clothing, and fellowship to the homeless. We participate every third Saturday using the facilities of the St. Luke's Community House.
Magdalene House

The first house was opened in August of 1987, the second in April 1998, and the third and fourth houses in the summers of 2000 and 2001. Launched in January of 2001, Thistle Farms created balms, candles, sachets and bath salts from herbs and spices harvested and handcrafted by the women themselves. These are offered for sale at Resurrection at special times of the year.
