The music ministry at the Church of the Resurrection embraces and
celebrates the rich music tradition of the Anglican/Episcopal Church.
We also worship God through music of many times and places for our own
spiritual enrichment and to connect with the great diverse tradition of
the Body of Christ. We encourage all with musical talent to contribute
to the worship life of the parish.
Our organist choir
director, Hildegard Cox, holds a Doctoral degree in organ performance
and has 21 years of experience as a church organist and choir
director. She loves working with people of all levels of experience
and developing the talents and abilities of all who want TO SERVE
Christ by making a "joyful noise unto the Lord."
If you would
like to be a part of the music ministry at the Church of the
Resurrection, please be in touch with our organist/choir director , Dr.
Hildegard Cox, e-mail: hildegard.cox007@comcast.net
ADULT CHOIR
Our
Adult Choir of mixed voices comprises presently 12 members "all
volunteer" . They sing regularly for our 10:30 Eucharist Service
(September through mid July) and for special events throughout the
year. Any singer 15 years and older is invited to join the choir.
While helpful, reading music is not required to be in the choir. Choir
Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings from 7 till 8:15 PM, and
on Sunday mornings, from 10 till 10:15 AM. The choir room is located
opposite the church office.
HAND BELL RINGERS AND INSTRUMENTALISTS
The
Church of the Resurrection is a proud owner of a 3 octave-handbell
set. We have currently a small group of bell ringers who rehearse
regularly on Monday evenings from 6:00 PM till 7:00. We are still
seeking out potential ringers (with or without experience) to expand
our hand bell choir. The handbell choir performs several times a year
for particular worship services and other church events.
Other
instrumentalists are needed to assist in leading the worship in our
sunday services. If you play an instrument adequately enough, there
may well be a place for you, either in our main Sunday services, or
assisting in other ministries.
