Christian Education
Christian education at the Church of the Resurrection is devoted to helping us all know, live, and pray the gospel of Christ. This is something we all need help with every day. We invite everyone to take part in Christian education at Resurrection.
There are Christian Education opportunities for all ages. This year we will begin some new curricula for Sunday Morning. Children ages 3 through 7 will begin the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd where they will learn through experiences about the sacraments, scripture, church history and most importantly God's love through Jesus Christ. Margaret Anderson and pat Smith are the Catechists with Carole Easterling and Ann Enoch as assistants. Grades 3 through 8 will study from the David C. Cook Anglican curriculum with topics such as Historical Tradition, Growing in the Word and Heroes of the Faith. John DeVoe and Jan Erickson will teach grades 3 through 5, and Junonne Brown and Art Fourier will lead the middle school kids. The high school class is starting an exciting lectionary-based curriculum using media to make the scripture real and relevant. This class will be led by Jill Altom and Kelly Smith. Classes take place in the education wing, parish hall and conference room. Look for the appropriate sing on the door or window. WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU THERE!
Several classes are offered during the year for adults on Sunday mornings. These classes may be led by lay persons or by the rector. The rector leads a bible study on Wednesday evenings following a light supper and Eucharist healing service. Tuesday morning women's bible study meets at 9:30. Contact the church office for various other opportunities.
