Church of the Resurrection - Member of the Episcopal Diocese of Tennnessee.

Adult Education

At our baptism, we promise to continue in the Apostles' teaching, the breaking of bread, and the prayers. What is the Apostles' teaching? The Apostles got their teachings from Jesus himself, and they passed them on to the first Christians, who passed them down through the generations until they reached us. What does it mean to continue in the Apostles' teachings? It means to believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the New Testament and to make your life a prayer and a daily walk with God.

Christian education at the Church of the Resurrection is devoted to helping us all know, live, and pray the gospel of Christ. This is something we all need help with every day.  I invite everyone to take part in Christian education at Resurrection. If you are not teaching a class, there is a class every Sunday you could benefit from, and others would benefit from your presence. If you think you know all you need to know, come and help the rest of us learn. If you think you don't know enough to come to a class, don't let that stop you. We are all beginners in one way or another!

Rector's Inquirers Class
Are you considering becoming a member of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion?  Do you want to join others in learning the great truths of the Bible and the teachings of the Church through the centuries?  Are you concerned about how to live out the Christian Faith in the modern world?   Would you like a refresher course in basic Christianity?  If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then you probably belong in the rector's inquirers class.  We will meet every Sunday in the corner of the parish hall from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.  We will cover topics such as the Holy Trinity, the Incarnation, the Fall, Redemption, the Bible, the Creeds, the Book of Common Prayer, the Sacraments, Prayer, and Church History.

Other Adult Classes
We offer other Sunday adult classes and weekday bible studies throughout the year.
